What is Lip Augmentation?

There are many methods of lip augmentation designed to increase volume, improve texture and accentuate the shape of the lips.

The most popular method is injection augmentation with dermal fillers such as Juvéderm or Restylane. These fillers provide a quick, minimally invasive method to adding fullness to the lips while maintaining softness and flexibility important for natural appearance. Those seeking a more permanent solution may consider fat transfers, implants, or a lip lift.

Lip fillers offer a versatile solution and alternative to cosmetic surgery in augmenting the lip size, however, will yield different results than surgical types of lip augmentation techniques.

When getting lip injections with hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus by Allergan, a fuller appearance can be achieved, however, the position of the lips will remain the same. Depending on the types of lip fillers used, long-lasting results can be achieved, up to a year before maintenance treatments are needed.
