What is Restylane?

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler made from synthetic hyaluronic acid, that helps correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including nasolabial folds, that run from your nose to the corner of your mouth, and marionette lines, that run from the corners of your mouth toward the chin. The injectable may also be used for lip enhancement. Results after treatment can last 6 to 9 months.

The treatment is an FDA-approved line of injectable fillers from Galderma that are created from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring molecule in the body, that provides support and fullness for natural-looking results that last. Restylane products are safe and among the most popular fillers used to restore volume, contour the face, eliminate fine lines, and soften wrinkles and folds.

Restylane Silk: Restylane Silk is the first FDA-approved product specifically designed for lip augmentation and treatment of fine lines around the mouth. Silk provides natural-looking results in these areas by using smaller, smoother hyaluronic acid particles than those used in other products. Treatment can last up to a year.

Restylane Lyft: Restylane Lyft, formerly Perlane-L, is a hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face. Over time, the natural fat that provides volume to the cheeks thin, resulting in sagging skin, more prominent wrinkles, and a hollowed appearance. Restylane Refyne: Restylane Refyne is a robust filler type formulated with XpresHAn Technology™, a unique cross-linking of the gel, designed to provide long-lasting correction of moderate wrinkles and folds while maintaining natural expression in motion. This can help you restore a more natural look to your face while maintaining your facial expressions.

Restylane Defyne: Restylane Defyne is a dermal filler made with XpresHAn Technology™, that helps maintain natural expression in motion, that specifically targets deep wrinkles and lines around the mouth. This can be used for laugh lines and marionette lines but is intended for deeper wrinkles than Refyne. The unique cross-linking of the gel in Defyne is also designed to help support your facial expressions—for natural-looking results that help maintain your natural movement.

Restylane Kysse: Restylane Kysse is the newest member of the Restylane family, specially formulated to add natural-looking and feeling volume to the lips. Like Refyne and Defyne, Kysse is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler formulated with Gladerma’s proprietary XpresHAn technology. What makes Kysse stand out is how its special formulation integrates with your body’s natural tissues, making it mold to your contours and become “one” with your lips.

What Can I Expect from Restylane?

Dermal fillers are administered through a smooth-flowing injection, allowing Dr. Hahn a high level of control for individualized treatments and for achieving a smooth, natural look.

With this simple and quick treatment option, the results are practically instantaneous. Dr. Hahn performs treatments with topical numbing cream on the facial skin to ensure the most comfortable treatment possible. Restylane offers pre-mixed anesthetic in their injectables for added comfort.

These cosmetic procedures are quick and performed in approximately 30 minutes.

Downtime & Recovery

There is little to no downtime associated with dermal filler injections, and you are free to continue daily activities directly after treatment. You may experience common side effects such as mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, however, this subsides within days.

While uncommon there are potential risks with cosmetic injections:
